Pulp production increased 2015 YTD and paper production remained stable

São Paulo, October 29, 2015 - In the first nine months of 2015, pulp production reached 12.7 million tons, 5.2% higher year-over-year, when 12.1 million tons were produced. Paper production also remained practically stable from January through September 2015 at 7.8 million tons. 

The domestic paper sales totaled 4 million tons in the nine months of 2015, 3.8% lower year-over-year. Wood panel sales totaled 4.9 million m3, 8.3% lower year-over-year.

Exports revenue - From January through September 2015, the pulp, wood panel and paper exports revenue totaled US$ 5.7 billion, a 3.3% increase year-over-year. The balance of the industry's trade balance for September 2015 YTD was US$ 4.7 billion, a 13.3% increase compared to the same period in 2014.

Exports volume - During the first nine months of 2015, the volume of pulp exports totaled 8.5 million tons, 9.1% higher year-over-year, when 7.7 million tons were exported. For the wood panels segment, the amount exported in the first nine months of the year totaled 440,000 m³, a 36.2% growth year-over-year, when exports totaled 323,000 m³. Paper exports totaled 1.5 million tons from January through September 2015, a 7.3% increase year-over-year, when the total volume exported was 1.4 million tons.
