Replacing extractivism wood with firewood produced in forestry, in addition to the growth of the pulp and paper, ceramics, steelmaking powered by charcoal and agribusiness industries, has been increasing the volume consumed and production of firewood from planted trees year after year. The firewood, which comes from reforestation, is used in direct burning or by combustion, which in turn creates charcoal, for the residential and the industrial sectors.

It is worth noting that the use of firewood in rural and industrial properties, as a source of energy, contributes to the sustainable growth of the forestry biomass consumer industries, since the process reduces the consumption of fossil fuels and uses renewable and perennial raw material, the tree, for energy generation.
