Exports volume of pulp, wood panels and paper remains high in the July YTD

From January through July this year, the pulp, wood panels and paper exports are at a high compared to the same period in 2013. July YTD figures total 6 million tons of pulp exported, a 13.6% increase year-over-year, when 5.3 million tons were exported. In the wood panels segment, the exported volume was at a high of 26%, totaling 310,000 m³. In relation to paper, exports achieved 1 million tons from January through July 2014, a 3.2% variation year-over-year. Export revenues – Export revenues for all three products also kept its positive results in the first seven months of the year, totaling approximately US$ 4.3 billion, meaning a 4.3% increase in collection compared to US$ 4.1 billion in the same period last year. Pulp sales to China, which is the second largest market for this Brazilian product, totaled US$ 908 million, a 5.7% increase year-over-year.

Producti - YTD pulp production was approximately 9.2 million tons, a high of 6.1% compared to the same period in 2013, which was 8.6 million tons. Wood panels production totaled 4.5 million m³, with a positive variation of 0.3% year-over-year. In relation to the paper segment, production from January through July totaled 6 million tons, a 0.1% variation compared to the same period in 2013.

Domestic Sale – YTD paper sales growth in the domestic market presented a slight variation of 0.3% year-over-year, achieving 3.2 million tons. On the other hand, domestic wood panel sales was 4 million m³, 2.7% lower year-over-year. Pulp sales in the domestic market increased 3.8% compared to the first seven months of 2013, reaching 1 million tons.
